Although the booth had a special place in our hearts, we also really loved old studio portraits like these. We couldn’t help but notice you could fit more friends in a studio… Not only that, you could spread your fairy wings in a studio. dress as a cowboy. sit on a moon or fly a plane.

The concept of dressing up and posing with props for portraits had all but faded out. But why, we wondered? As a nation of fun loving, festival going dresser-uppers, why weren’t we doing that any more?

So thats when it came to us…What the world needed was some kind of studio/booth hybrid!….and so friends, The photo Emporium was born.

So how did all of this come about? What on earth inspired us to embark on this unusual venture.

Well, way before the Photo Emporium came about, we had a long standing love for the humble photobooth.

As you can see from the evidence below, many a teenage outing ended with a bundle into the booth! When I say booth I’m not talking about the joyless kinds you see today in public spots. You know the ones that allow you to try over and over for the perfect passport pose.

No! I’m talking about the ones that always seemed to go off when you weren’t quite ready, catching you pulling a silly face or mind blink. Remember those?

The photo booth used to have a winning formula: No one but you takes the photo, there are no second chances, no delete buttons – just uninhibited fun and imperfect moments captured.

Perfect imperfection! and guess what we think…..imperfect = funny!!

1. unknown,2,3,4,5,6,7. unknown,8,9

So that’s when we got to thinking. How could we bring the fun back to the booth?….

recognise the eyes? not closed this time!

As you may know we have been working our socks off for the past few months getting some new areas of our little business off the ground. In fact we feel like the ground is a place where our feet ( and socks) have not been in a long time! Of course we are very happy about that because it tells us that people enjoy what we do and well, that gives us the warm and fuzzies!
